  1. What’s your favorite course in the Fall semester?

My favorite course in the Fall semester is AI for Business and Finance taught by Professor Liao Ming. This course taught me how to use different tools to come up with a trend for stocks and many other financial derivatives. Professor Liao used a lot of real-life examples and cases to teach the course, which helped me understand the importance of the AI model not only in finance, but also in many other fields. In the future, by training AI, we can make business decisions much more rational, without personal prejudice.

  1. What was your most memorable program experience this Fall?

Professor Liao Ming invited some guest speakers, including the data department heads from Unilever, Gucci, LVMH, Tik Tok, to speak to us about the application and importance of data analytics in their jobs. From those people who have succeeded in the industry, I understand what skills a data analyst needs in the real world and what are the latest trends in the industry. By knowing this, it’s more clear for me that I should get more prepared to become a great data analyst.

  1. What was it like to study and live in Shanghai this Fall?

I intern at Nio, the automobile company, five days a week this semester. If the classes are in the morning, I go to school first and then go to the company. If the classes are in the evening, I try my best to get my work done and leave earlier to drive to school. It’s super busy and it’s quite a challenge for me to balance my internship and schoolwork, so I like setting up a detailed daily schedule to manage my time, making sure I can always complete each task on time.
