Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the start date of NYU Shanghai - NYU Stern MS programs has been changed from June 2020 to August 2020. After the third deadline, applications will be considered on a rolling basis. If you need any assistance from the Admissions Office, please email us to discuss your application.
Check the Status of Your Application
You can check the status of your application at any time on your application status page. Your application status page indicates any missing application requirements, and you are able to upload outstanding or supplemental materials directly to this page.
If your application is not complete (for example, missing self-reported test scores, essays or other items, illegible scanned transcript) you will be informed via your application status page. If you do not provide a completed application by the deadline, your notification may be delayed.
Notifications are issued on an ongoing basis. Please allow up to 8 weeks after the deadline for the Admissions Committee to send out notifications.
Notification possibilities are as follows:
- Offer of admission
- Interview invitation
- Waitlist offer
- Denial of admission
The Admissions Committee conducts a limited number of interviews. Interviews are available by invitation only, and are not required to be admitted. The interview is evaluative and provides the Admissions Committee with more information on your qualifications, career goals and personal characteristics.
If the Admissions Committee invites you to interview, you will receive the invitation and scheduling information via email.
Interviews are often conducted in person in Shanghai by our trained admissions professionals, who will have thoroughly read your entire application.
For priority consideration for off-site interviews, apply by the first deadline, October 15, 2019. We may conduct off-site interviews in other locations, but the locations and timing are subject to change each year.
After the interview, it will typically take up to three weeks to receive a post-interview decision. There are three possible post-interview decisions: offer of admissions, waitlist offer, denial of admission.
Offer of Admission
If offered admission, you will view an online admission letter in your application status page. If you have been awarded scholarship, that information will be part of your admission letter. In addition, you will be given access to our admitted students portal.
In our admissions process, you may be placed on the waitlist without being interviewed and/or after being interviewed. If you are placed on the waitlist, you will receive additional information about the waitlist process at that time.
