Current students, faculty and alumni of the NYU Stern - NYU Shanghai Master's Programs, alongside Stern alumni from other programs, including BS and MBA, based in Shanghai, gathered for an evening of conversation and connection at the Upper House Shanghai on Thursday, March 5.

The event brought together a distinguished group of guests for a thought-provoking discussion on geopolitical risk, global markets, and the growing role of AI in finance. The evening opened with welcome remarks by Professor Adam Brandenburger, J.P. Valles Professor at NYU Stern School of Business and Director of the NYU Stern - NYU Shanghai MS Programs, before giving way to the main fireside chat with Professors Menachem Brenner and Han-Shen Lin (MS '10).

Professor Brenner, Professor Emeritus of Finance at NYU Stern, brought decades of expertise on volatility research to the discussion. Professor Han-Shen Lin (MS '10), Associate Professor of Practice in Finance at NYU Shanghai, offered a unique perspective shaped by his background in global finance, China's financial markets, and political economy. 

Following the discussion, attendees gathered for a networking reception with drinks and canapés, mingling with old friends and making new connections. The event offered a wonderful opportunity for alumni and current students to gain timely insights on global markets while reconnecting with fellow members of the Stern community in Shanghai.
