Connect with Industries: September Career Fairs and Events

On September 17 and 19, CDC and the Department of Business jointly hosted two Careers Day events on finance and data science. These events included face-to-face communication with industry leaders, who shared industry ground and their own career development experiences. During the Financial Industry Careers Day, business managers engaged in investment banking, equity / venture capital, financial research, institutional sales, asset management and other financial fields shared their opinions on the industry and offered suggestions for career development.

In the Data Science Careers Day, students listened to the experience of experts from IT, consulting, finance and retail industries, and learned about the latest trends in the industry and how to enhance their core competitiveness to cope with industry changes.

On September 20, students from MSDABC and MSQF participated in the Career Fair hosted by CDC, which gathered 77 enterprises from more than 20 industries. Students had the opportunity to learn about the positions, share their resumes, and communicate with representatives from the companies. 

Additionally, CDC offered three workshops in September. In the "Career Development of China's Securities Industry" workshop, students listened to Guoxiong Sun, the Dean of Xingye Securities Wealth Management College, who gave a lecture on industry overview, position introduction, and career path, and then had the opportunity to ask him questions. In the "Strategy Consulting Career Development" workshop, Tong Zhao, the Manager of Strategy and Operational Transaction Consulting of Ernst & Young Greater China, shared his own professional experience and opinions on the industry. Students also took part in the valuation modeling workshop, in which students learned and implemented the financial forecast and hypothesis analysis models.


Multiple student ambassadors in CDC contributed to all of these events. These ambassadors from MSQF and MSDABC have played an important role in helping to organize the events, from planning to on-site support, so that everything can go smoothly.
