FAQs

General Questions
How long is the program?

Students have the option to complete the 36 credits in 12 or 20 months. The only difference in the curriculum during the first year is during the Spring semester, when students choosing to graduate in 20 months take one less course, which is then completed in the second Fall semester at NYU Shanghai. The 12-month option will be favored by students who prefer to start their post-graduation careers as soon as possible, perhaps enabling them to accept jobs and begin earning money right away. The 20-month option will be favored by students who prefer to pace their education, giving them more time to, for example, conduct research, deepen relationships with faculty, participate in student engagement opportunities on campus, or acquire pre-graduation professional experience via Summer and Fall internships while still enrolled.

When and where will the programs commence?

The program starts every year in late May at NYU Stern in New York City, followed by the Fall, J-term, and Spring semesters at NYU Shanghai.

When and where will the programs conclude?

Students finish the programs at NYU Shanghai. Degree conferral occurs either at the end of May after the Spring semester if graduating in 12 months, or in January after the second Fall semester if graduating in 20 months.

What degree would I receive after completing the programs?
