On September 17 and 19, CDC and the NYU Shanghai Business Department jointly hosted two Careers Day events on the topic of finance and data science. These events included panel discussions with industry leaders, who shared industry knowledge and their own career experiences. During the Financial Industry Careers Day, business managers from investment banking, equity / venture capital, financial research, institutional sales, asset management and other financial fields shared their ideas and opinions of the respective industries and offered suggestions to the students to build their own career paths.




At the Data Science Careers Day event, experts from IT, consulting, finance and retail industries shared their experience and latest trends in their respective industries. Students learnt how to adapt themselves and enhance their core competitiveness to cope with the industry changes.




On September 20, students from MSDABC and MSQF participated in the Career Fair hosted by CDC. Representatives from 77 companies across 20 industries joined the event, and shared their industry insights.


Additionally, CDC hosted three workshops in September. In the workshop titled "Career Development of China's Securities Industry", Dean of Xingye Securities Wealth Management College, Guoxiong Sun, first gave an overview of the industry, apart from introducing the career opportunities and detailed career paths. During the "Strategy Consulting Career Development" workshop, Tong Zhao, the Manager of Strategy and Operational Transaction Consulting of Ernst & Young Greater China, shared his own professional experience and opinions of the industry. Students also took part in the valuation modeling workshop, in which they learned and implemented the financial forecast and hypothesis analysis models.


The CDC Ambassadors all contributed to the events in various ways, from event organizing to onsite support.
