2020 was a challenging year, as the labor market was profoundly affected by COVID-19. However, with their outstanding career competencies and skills, the inaugural class of NYU Shanghai - NYU Stern joint master's programs won job offers from several well-known companies. Newly released First Destination Reports for Master of Science in Data Analytics & Business Computing (MSDABC) and Quantitative Finance (MSQF) Class of 2020 show impressive statistics on their career outcomes.

The 26 graduates comprising the MSDABC Class of 2020 achieved an overall employment rate of 96%. The data shows that 100% of graduates received full-time offers within 6 months after graduation. Each graduate from this program received 2.3 full-time offers on average. The top four industries are Consulting (26%), Fintech (16%), Technology/Internet (16%), and Commercial Banking (16%). 88% of the students chose to work in China after graduation, and 12% chose to work in the United States. Most of them started their career in cities such as Shanghai, Beijing, Shenzhen, Suzhou, and New York.

The 20 graduates who comprise the MSQF Class of 2020 achieved an overall employment rate of 90%, with 94% of students receiving full-time offers within 6 months after graduation. Each student received an average of 1.9 full-time offers. The top four industries are Commercial Banking (33%), Securities (20%), Private Equity/Venture Capital (13%), and Accounting & Auditing (13%). Graduates choose to work in cities such as Shanghai, Beijing, Hangzhou, Shenzhen, and Changzhou.

The fulfilling and rewarding one-year experience in both New York and Shanghai has witnessed the growth of the graduates and the master's programs. Now, as our graduates stand at a new starting point equipped with a global vision and open mindset, NYU Shanghai and NYU Stern wish them a bright path forward in their chosen fields.
